FSU Sales Teams

Top professional sales students are selected for one of three teams – the FSU Sales Team, the FSU Spanish Sales Team or the FSU JV Sales Team – for their superior motivation and sales performance. Team members use strategies developed during their Professional Sales Program to compete against each other and students from other universities. Additionally, FSU sales team members take the Sales Team Practicum (MAR 4946) course, in which they are required to attend various meetings, presentations and competitions, as well as coach other students as they continue their own professional development. The FSU sales team members also act as liaisons between the FSU Sales Institute and its corporate partners and work closely with faculty members to assist in acquiring new corporate event sponsors. Members of the FSU Sales Team are selected every semester, with the FSU Spanish Sales Team and the FSU JV Sales Team members being selected every summer.

Sales Team Criteria:

  • Must be a professional sales major
  • Must have a minimum overall 3.0 GPA
  • Must have taken Advanced Sales Techniques (MAR 4613). Students will be considered for the sales team the semester immediately following the semester this course was taken (excluding summer semesters)

Sales Team Selection is based on a combination of:

  • General academic performance
  • Performance in professional sales courses
  • Professional demeanor/image
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Performance in the Advance Sales Technique (MAR 4613) course

A PROVEN TRACK RECORD

Each spring and fall semester, the FSU Sales Institute hosts the Seminole Sales Showcase, an event that brings together professional sales students and corporate partners, which include recruiters. FSU Sales Team members compete against each other in this in-house competition for the honor of representing Florida State University at various national collegiate sales competitions. Our FSU Sales Team members consistently place in the Top 10 of these competitions. Some of their competitions include:

  • Florida International University College of Business Global Bilingual Competition
  • FSU Intercollegiate Insurance Sales Challenge
  • International Collegiate Sales Competition
  • Kennesaw State National Collegiate Sales Competition
  • Nicolls State University Bayou Sales Challenge
  • Salisbury University National Shore Sales Challenge
  • University of West Florida Pensacola Pitch: Collegiate Sales Competition
